I love this commercial! I am always picking up litter and trash and I drive a Honda Civic hybrid. Habits do make a difference. What are some good habits you've developed lately?
What I think is funny about that commercial is the background music is from the old "Odd Couple" series, which a large segment of the population under a certain age would not recognize, and which lots of people would not realize was a reference to the whole Oscar-Felix messiness-tidiness dynamic.
I wish I had more good habits. I am trying to not use plastic bags when I buy items at convenience stores, but sometimes I am lazy and just take the bag when it is offered to me instead of saying, "No bag, please." Hmmm....My habits are not very good, when you come right down to it. Oh well.
Perhaps this is who is driving the hybrid but you're right...it won't attract the younger driver as depicted in the ad. Unless retro is in. I also love it that he fashioned all that trash into a tree.
I'm trying to remember to bring canvas bags when I grocery shop but it's not a habit yet.
When a plastic bag is offered, I reply "No thanks...save a plastic tree."
Katie and I walk everywhere locally to avoid greenhouse emissions from the car. I bought canvas bags for the supermarket, biodegradeable trash bags for the kitchen and biodegradeable "poop" bags for the dogs.
When I walk Callie in the morning (45 minutes every day) I pick up trash along the way. This morning I was picking up neighbors trash barrels that had blown over in the windstorm last night. Every little bit helps, right?
We're within walking distance of all these things plus a cheese shoppe, a wine store, a bread store, 2 Italian restaraunts, 1 bistro, 1 indian place, and 5 american fare restaraunts.

You're such a good guy!
Wow, biodegradeable dog poop bags...who knew? I'm glad someone is on top of these things (well, you know what I mean).
The next place I live I want to live within walking distance of the grocery, post office, drugstore, etc.
